What is the ETIP on Batteries?
ETIP means European technology and Innovation Platform.
The ETIPS on batteries is an industry-led stakeholder forum, recognised by the EU Commission. The actors of the Battery ETIP are key players in driving innovation, transferring knowledge and promoting European competitiveness in the field
of batteries.. It covers the whole supply chain from production of battery materials through the manufacture and use of batteries till the end-of-life recycling.
An ETIP is funded by both private and public funding.
The full name of the ETIP on Batteries is Building an attractive European R&I ecosystem on batteries. It has been created as a follow of the call for project ENER-2018-453-A7 and covers the period 01/2019 till 12/2021 with a funding contribution of the EU of €1M.
What does the ETIP on Battery do?
The main objectives of the ETIP on batteries are:
To develop the future agenda for research and developments activities,
To contribute to the definition of priorities,
To share information across the EU.
In order to develop solutions to some of the major challenges of modern society: the decarbonisation of our economy and e-mobility (according to the SET Plan developed at EU level).

The ETIP on Batteries is also called BatteRies Europe.
What is the role of EBRA in the ETIP on Batteries
The ETIP is made of various working groups (WG) and cross-functional task forces (TF).
EBRA is the vice-chair of WG2 on battery raw material and recycling as well as core member of the TF on Digitisation.
